Molly's Story

Molly Wolsey

Molly just after she came into the rescue frightened and confused

We first got Molly about 3 years ago. She was a very sad and troubled Shih Tzu with ill health.

She could not walk in a straight line and would just sit and yelp.  After veterinary treatment funded by the Shih Tzu Rescue the vet said she was very traumatized and after various vet visits and x-rays it was diagnosed as a neurological disorder.

Up until then she must have been having a miserable life with pain, and as a last resort the vet started Molly on a course of steroids and from that day on she has been a different dog.

Molly today!

Molly wouldn’t go for walks, have her lead on, play with toys or even allow you to stroke her. She  had to have a lead left on her just to get her to go on the garden.  But with a lot of love, time and loads of patience, she has become a loving little dog and very affectionate too, who now plays with toys and loves to go for a stroll.

She will have to continue on the treatment for life, but now she has started to enjoy life again. I would like to thank the Southern Shih Tzu Rescue for finding and rescuing Molly and making this sad little dog a very happy and loving one.

With many thanks

Linda Wolsey

The Rescue would like to thank Linda for taking on Molly who really did need a lot of TLC which Linda and her family gave with abundance and which has made the difference to Molly’s life, and at last she seems to be enjoying to the fullest.

And also a big thanks to Linda for being our Home Assessment Officer during 2002/3!
