The last picture of Brummie taken shortly before he died aged 16

Brummie's 16th birthday
|
Brummie:
Brummie was the oldest shih tzu we have re-homed. He came to us in 1996 aged
15 when his elderly owner died.
We thought that at his age nobody would want him but Brummie was lucky. Jackie
and Barry came along and gave him a lovely home.Brummie died last year aged 16,
this is part of the letter that Jackie wrote:-
"....although we only had Brummie for 13 months it was as if we had had
him forever. Brummie was such a special, loveable and regal dog, a real character.
He loved to chase me and nip my leg or grab my skirt whenever I came in. We are
so glad he died in his sleep, being cuddled and with dignity." |

Brummie has been buried in Jackie and Barry's garden with a
Shih Tzu statue marking his grave. |

Grace resting her broken leg
|
Grace:
Grace was only eight weeks old when she came into
rescue. She was an impulse buy from a well known commercial kennel which has had
much attention from the News Of The World’s "stamp out puppy farming"
campaign. |
When we were asked to pick up Grace we were told that she had
something wrong with her leg. During the drive home it was obvious that she was
in pain so she was taken straight to a vet. who found that one of her front legs
was broken in two places.
With the correct treatment Grace soon made a full recovery and about five weeks
later was off to her new home. |

Whitney (on the right) in her new home with her new Mum and new pals. |
Whitney:
Whitney came to us as a puppy who was deaf and suffering from severe fits.
Extensive tests revealed the fits were caused by a liver disorder.
When this was treated the fits stopped. She is still deaf but is living happily
in her new home with two other Shih Tzu for company. |
